In a way, yes. The longer you wait to use your bath bombs, the less fizzy and scented they become. As time goes on, the natural ingredients such as the oils evaporate. When these ingredients disappear, the bath bomb doesn’t work like it was designed. We recommend using our bath bombs within three months of purchasing.
Glycerin is made from plant-based oils and is completely natural. Glycerin soap does not contain any alcohol, harsh chemicals, or synthetic fragrances that may upset the skin. All of La Savonnerie Divine’s soap products are handmade using glycerin.

In general, soap is made from a mix of fat or oil and an alkali. Alkali is an ionic salt of an alkali metal, which dissolves in water. Handsoap uses an alkali known as lye, also known as sodium hydroxide.
By itself, lye is corrosive and can irritate the skin. However, making handmade soap eliminates the presence of lye with a process known as saponification. This occurs when lye is added to water and then mixed with oils or fats. As the substances emulsify, the substance will thicken, and the fat or oil is converted into soap.
From there, we pour the mixture into appropriate molds and let them harden. It isn’t until the soap is done hardening we start to turn them into delicious-looking bath treats.
